Here at Pro Health Physio, we offer a bespoke return to running assessment, following your injury to ensure you prevent any injuries and can strive towards your personal bests. This will include a full 360 degree assessment of your strength, flexibility, endurance and cardiovascular strength. We believe in using technology and data to aid with this process. We have a range of tools/technology to quantify your return to running metrics, such as dynamometers, force plates, compex, blood flow restriction.
We will look at your running technique, running shoes wear/tear and running shoes recommendations as appropriate. We use techniques from a range of sources including anatomy in motion, plyometrics (check out our blogs for more information) and our extensive experience of working with athletes to guide you back to the road/trails or track.
EXCELLENT Based on 192 reviews Jake Archer2024-11-12Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently developed a calf/shin injury and after previous successful physio at Pro Health, booked to see Rosie- she quickly identified what exactly the injury was, and how best to treat it. After talking me through a rehab programme, and some education on how to prevent this type of injury from occuring again, I am already back running pain free. I'd definitely recommend booking to see Rosie or the team at Pro Health. Mary Davidson2024-11-05Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I saw James for an injury to my hip flexor caused by running. He provided a clear and thorough diagnosis and treatment plan for my injury, with focus placed not only on recovery, but also future prevention. The exercises he gave me provided the right level of challenge to keep improving week on week, and got me running again pain free in less than 2 months. Really great experience and I couldn’t recommend James highly enough. Kenny Baker2024-10-31Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a consultation with James at Gosforth after I tore my meniscus in my knee. He was very approachable and thorough in his assessment and not only took on all my feedback, he constructed me multiple training programs and was also on call for any issues I had outside of appointments. Would totally recommend to anyone in need of a good physio in a well equipped gym. Trevor SHIELS2024-10-29Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a few sessions with Ron to help with a recurring neck muscle problem, treatment and “homework” were excellent and now have full use for my biggest passion - golf 👍 Charlotte Broad2024-10-14Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. James has helped me tremendously through my injuries before my half marathon and couldn’t recommend him enough! I was due to run a half marathon in October and suffered one initial injury prior. James was quick to suss out the issue and helped me gain strength in the areas which were causing my injury which led me to being recovered completely. Just 2-3 weeks before my half I noticed I started to get pain in my other leg and again james was very knowledgable about what was causing this pain and immediately gave me exercises and advice to help improve the pain. I managed to get the half done pain free and get the time I wanted without his help and advice I wouldnt of been able to do it! A big thank you to him and all his help and advice I would 100% recommend him to anyone thank you for all the help :) Neil Horton2024-10-12Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fantastic experience with Alex and Pro Health Physio. Alex developed a program to aid my recovery from an LCL injury where I was unable to walk, had restricted range of motion and load capability. Over the course of several appointments we focused on strengthening the knee and wider posterior chain with a view to getting back to training and running. Very pleased with the results as well as being equipped for the future to prevent further injuries. Zita Andrássy2024-10-12Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great experience with Darren at ProHealth Physio. I was skeptical about the efficiency of online sessions, but it worked really well and not only he helped me to overcome a really strong hip pain, but thanks to the specific exercises, I also improved my crossfit performance and also got my running skills back. Mick Wood2024-10-12Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had issues with foot affecting running and Mike provided some intricate foot exercises. Really didn't think I'd get back to running in 60's but my ankle and knees have strengthened really well. Although I exercise a lot and thought I knew rehab type exercises, without the physio input I'd have never got back to running. Really worthwhile so many thanks to Northumberland physiotherapy. Well recommended. Amie Edwards2024-10-08Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I highly recommend Pro Health Physio. I sought out treatment after suffering from shin pain that prevented me from participating in the Great North Run. Darren was extremely knowledgeable and thorough, identifying the root cause as knee related and went on to provide a holistic rehab plan. I feel confident to get back running again, thank you! James' knowledge and temperment made the whole 10 months a great experience - such a pleasure to work with. He always remained open and approachable. Highly recommend Pro Health Physio NE and James in particular for any rehabilitation works.
