James Nowosielski

Senior Physiotherapist

Since graduating in 2016, James has worked in the NHS, at Sunderland AFC and in private practice, developing his skills in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and sports injuries and conditions.

James has built a strong reputation of having a patient-centred and evidence-based approach. He takes pride in his work and applies the same levels of performance and discipline to all aspects of his life, serving as the captain of his Northern Alliance football team and competing in numerous endurance events.

After growing up in Herefordshire, he moved to Newcastle upon Tyne to study physiotherapy at Northumbria University. Opting for a career in physiotherapy was underlined by a desire to help others fulfil their potential in everyday life and for both recreational and professional athletes.

His growing passion for running, triathlons and other endurance events has led to a particular interest in treating injuries associated with this. James’ treatment methods not only aim to recover quickly, but also to focus on reducing the risks of re-injury and enhancing performance, providing this for many athletes based in the North East. As a former county footballer and national swimmer, James has an excellent understanding of how to help athletes meet their performance goals.

A combination of exercise, manual therapy, injury management and injury prevention strategies help patients meet their targets. He has a passion for continual professional development and has studied at postgraduate level, gaining qualifications in acupuncture, sports massage and cognitive behavioural therapy. James is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
